We want your stories and tales... What is your experience of Sutton-in-the-Isle and the surrounding Fenlands?
Proboscis are inviting people who have any memories, experiences, thoughts and stories about Sutton-in-the-Isle and the surrounding Fenlands to add them to Sutton Grapevine a project based in Sutton-in-the-Isle.
Sutton Grapevine is an arts project exploring place and identity in Sutton through collecting and sharing people's memories, thoughts, ideas and stories about the village. Proboscis are gathering and sharing stories online and offline through interviews, chance meetings, events, broadcasts and activities in the village, at the Babylon Gallery and on the internet. The project can been seen and heard through the website, and will be presented during Sutton Feast Week 2009.
Proboscis will be roving around Sutton between the 3 - 9 June gathering stories in lots of different ways - from hosting a storytelling barbeque with the residents of a street, to meeting individuals and clubs, to hanging around outside the shop and community centre with a giant map of the village. You can drop in to the following places or call to meet them another time. Wed 3rd, The Glebe 2 - 4 pm, Thurs 4th, Community room by The Pavilion 2 - 4 pm, Fri 5th, The Glebe 2 - 4 pm, Sat 6th, outside the One Stop Shop 9 - 11am, Mon 8th, Community Room 2 - 4.30, Tue 9th, Community Room 2 - 4.30pm.
The group will be back during feast week from the 1st - 5th July with an exhibition and audio broadcasts at St Andrews Church.
