Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer with Babylon ARTS to help make the fens a brighter place

We are looking to grow our volunteer team, to help brighten Ely’s cultural offer by supporting its cinema, gallery and events through 2023.

At Babylon ARTS, we manage the part-time independent cinema at The Maltings. We also run a varied programme of exhibitions at the Babylon Gallery on the riverside in Ely and have plans for a range of outdoor performances and events this year.

Volunteers have always played a big part of our work at Babylon Arts, however the challenges of Covid have had an impact on the number of people who can still regularly help and so we’d love to welcome more people to our volunteer team. We will provide training for the duties that people get involved with.

Budding volunteers need to be aged 18 or over and the charity is committed to supporting those with access needs or who have never volunteered before to get involved. To offer your help please fill in our form here.

We're always interested to hear from people who would like to be a trustee

Can you help us to achieve our ambitions as a charity committed to inspiring, developing and delivering quality arts events and activities to engage communities across rural Cambridgeshire and beyond?

Operating from our beautiful micro arts centre in Ely, our small team is having a big impact locally and across East Cambridgeshire, Fenland and parts of West Suffolk. This is an exciting time to join the organisation as a trustee, as we're raising our ambitions to achieve our vision of being the creative heart of Ely and West Anglia.

For more information about the role of a Trustee for Babylon ARTS download the Recruitment Information. If you would like to express your interest, please complete and return this form.

If you're interested in applying or would like more information, please email office@babylonarts.org.uk.

Become a Charity Member

As a charity we have a Memorandum and Articles of Association, which set out how the charity is governed; simply put, it’s a set of rules. According to these rules, Babylon ARTS (whose register charity name is ADEC, Arts Development in East Cambridgeshire) is required to have Members who are referred to as ‘Charity Members’.

This membership is different to our paid membership scheme, where individuals pay a small annual fee to access benefits such as free and discounted cinema tickets and get invited to subscribing membership events etc.

There is no charge for becoming a Charity Member. Individual people or organisations can apply to become a Charity Member and their membership needs to be approved by the trustees.
