Market Place | Creative People and Place programme for Fenland and Forest Heath
Market Place has people at its heart. It’s about more people creating and experiencing great art in Fenland and Forest Heath: Brandon, Chatteris, March, Mildenhall, Newmarket, Whittlesey, and Wisbech.

Bringing fun, excitement & creativity to the region in the market towns of Brandon, Chatteris, March, Mildenhall, Newmarket, Whittlesey, and Wisbech.

By talking to people about the kind of cultural activity they want to see locally, we want to create a distinctive arts programme that’s unique to the people and places that have shaped it. We aim to make a lasting change in communities. With our project we want increase the number of people inspired by the arts, help develop skills, and grow ambition and creativity in their neighbourhoods.

Kate Hall, Project Director for Market Place, who joined the team in August 2015, states, “the Creative People and Places programme, which funds Market Place, is all about treading new ground to grow the audiences we haven’t yet reached – I will endeavour to shape our journey so the decision making process is jointly owned and understood, and most importantly creates work, which excites and motivates local people to make art and culture part of their everyday lives. I look forward to working with you on making this culture change happen”.

We are interested in making more contacts with the community in our seven towns, so if you live or work in Fenland and Forest Heath, please get in touch. Find out more at our website, join our Facebook page, and follow us on Twitter.
The programme is run by a Consortium of Partners consisting of ADEC, 20TwentyProductions, MusicArtsProject, Newmarket Racecourse, and New Wolsey Theatre. We are grateful and proud to be supported by Forest Heath District Council, Fenland District Council, Suffolk County Council, and Cambridgeshire County Council.
