Working in a series: Inspired by the river with Astrig Akseralian (SOLD OUT)

Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Venue: Babylon Gallery, Ely

The aim of the workshop is to explore working with colour and mark-making and in the process learn how to develop working in a series. We will use the river as our inspiration and use a limited colour palette. I will give a short demonstration of my own methods. You will be able to experiment with mixed media: acrylics, acrylic mediums, inks, pastels, charcoal and collage. Beginners and experienced artists welcome.

Participants need to bring:

  • No preparation is necessary. I will be providing materials but if you have any favourite tools or materials please feel free to bring them. Definitely bring your overalls as getting acrylic paint out of clothing isn’t easy! If you have sketchbooks and collage materials you might like to work from or include you can bring those too.
  • £5 for materials
  • Coffee, tea and water will be provided on arrival. Participants need to provide their own snacks

The Society of East Anglian Watercolourists (SEAW) exhibition ‘Water Ways’ is at the Babylon Gallery from Friday 3rd September to Sunday 26th September 2021. The Gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday, 12pm to 4pm with free entry.
