Artist Open Call Deadline Extended to Friday 22 May 2020
Somewhere in Ely is a project inviting local people to join a conversation about the kind of arts and activities they would like to see in the city and theres still time to submit your ideas.
The ambition is to create 3 new pieces of temporary artwork for Ely. Artists of all kinds (including makers, performers, writers and socially-engaged artists) are invited to respond to the Creative Brief with ideas for new work. Up to 6 artist proposals will then be shortlisted to present their ideas to the local community. Following a Dragon’s Den style pitch, local people will choose which will be awarded a £1800 commission. The 3 new pieces of work created will be shared in public places in October 2020. (Please note the timeline for this project has been adjusted from the original brief).

Invitation to get involved: Help choose an artist
We are looking for people who live or work in Ely and the surrounding areas to get involved. We need your help to choose the artists who will be creating work.
We welcome local residents of all ages and interests to get involved with the voting. You don’t need any special experience or interest in art. We have some great ideas from artists and would really appreciate your help in choosing the work for Ely.
