Temporary Closure of Ely Cinema & Babylon Gallery

Temporary Closure of Ely Cinema & Babylon Gallery

In light of the government announcement on 16th March, in relation to controlling the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), we have taken the decision to pause all cinema screenings and temporarily close the Babylon Gallery with immediate effect.

If you have booked tickets for cinema screenings or events taking place during the rest of March or April; you are entitled to a refund. However, we ask that you consider holding onto your ticket/booking for the time-being and using the credit against a future event or screening, once we re-open. We are working to reschedule events and key screenings as far as possible.

If you wish to have a refund, please call the box office on 01353 616991 between Tuesday and Friday, 12pm to 4pm and it can be processed for you.

The Babylon Gallery will be closed and the events, meetings and talks which were due to take place at the Babylon Gallery will not go ahead for the time being.

Our staff team will still be working remotely and are contactable via their usual email addresses.

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure the community that Ely Cinema will be back as soon as it is appropriate to re-open. 2019-20 has been a very positive year for the cinema and we look forward to sharing the progress we have made in due course.

The Babylon Gallery is also poised for an exciting range of programmes and activities, which will resume as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support and understanding during this time.
