Due to the success of the first Winter Open in January, Babylon is committed to providing this opportunity for local artists to participate in the exhibition and to sell their work. The December slot on this occasion will be used to promote the purchase of artworks as Christmas presents in order to maximise sales for the artists with the added benefit of the commission earned that helps Babylon to continue to thrive.
Entered works must be small, affordable and 2D, framed and ready to hang with either cord or mirror plates. They must not exceed a maximum size of 160cm when measured around all 4 sides including the frame. There is no selection procedure, just a £5 +VAT (£6 total) entry fee per work, and up to 4 works per artist. All items will be for sale and will be sold 'off the wall'. The gallery will take a flat rate commission of £10 + VAT (£12 total deduction) from items that sell. Artists will be advised of works sold and will be encouraged to bring another work of a similar size as a replacement, free of charge!
The Winter Open exhibition will be open to the public from 30th November to 23rd December 2023.
