The ADeC Arts Crew is open to young people aged 14 – 25.

The Arts Crew meet regularly and have the opportunity to engage with all aspects of ADeC’s work. This includes working behind the scenes at shows (e.g. lighting and sound tech), hanging exhibitions in the Babylon Gallery, helping at workshops, stewarding at events and staffing outdoor events. (E.g. Ely Folk Festival).

ADeC also sources funding to enable the Arts Crew to select and manage their own events.

The crew brings together young people who are keen to get involved in their local arts scene and covers all art forms from music, dance and drama to visual art and film.

No previous skills or arts knowledge is required. The group meet on average once a month depending on the number of projects they are engaged with. Through the Arts Crew young people have the opportunity to socialise, share interests, gain new skills and earn an Arts Award qualification. Crew members get their own personalised T-shirt to wear at events and receive special offers on event tickets.

The Arts Crew was launched in 2009 and since then they have played an important role in a number of music, comedy and theatre events as well as assisting at community days including Aquafest and Eel Day. We are delighted that a number of crew members achieved Arts Award qualifications and went on to pursue careers in the creative arts
