Rags to Riches

Rags to Riches

Rags to Riches was a four month youth project, where young people used recycled old clothes and materials and turned them into fashionable outfits for all occasions. During this project various workshops were set up at Ely College, for young people to learn new skills, Workshops included bag making, screen printing T-shirts and even a junk monster making workshop! The group also went on trips to Cambridge and London to see some existing fashion and use them to inspire their own ideas.

After the months of work and preparation the young people put on a fashion show at the Regal in Littleport, all money raised went to the Teenage Cancer Trust. Five young people achieved their Bronze Arts Award by taking part in this project, a fantastic achievement!

The young people would like to thank all of the youth workers that contributed to the night and everyone who helped set up the event. The models and everyone who made the outfits and attended the workshops especially Kara and Zoe who presented the entire evening and Malcolm white from Teenage Cancer Trust for coming and introducing the charity and explaining what the charity does.
